Electronic Arts explained to gamesindustry that the decision to withdraw the first-person shooter Crysis 2 from Steam belongs to Valve, since Crytek studios have agreed to new rules imposed by Valve for producers.

“It is regrettable that Crysis 2 was removed from the Steam catalog. This was not a decision taken by EA or as a result of action by the EA,” revealed the American publisher.

According to EA, Crysis 2 can still be played on Steam for those who have already purchased through this service, the game is still available for purchase via Direct2Drive or Impulse.
